The Department of Mathematics in conjunction with the Mathematics Support Centre in NUI Maynooth hosted the 3rd Irish Workshop on Mathematics Learning and Support Centres on Friday the 5th of December, 2008.

The theme of the conference was ‘Is Mathematics Support Worthwhile?’. We focused on ways of measuring the impact of Mathematics support and ways of improving the effectiveness of initiatives.

Professor Tony Croft and Professor Duncan Lawson gave the keynote addresses.

A paper summarising the work done at the workshop was written by Dr. Ciarán Mac an Bhaird and Dr, Ann O’Shea and was published in MSOR Connections. A copy of it can be downloaded here.
